Quartz is one of the most abundant rock-forming constituents, which is more and more utilized for the better understanding of petrogenetic processes.
Quartz is also a crucial industrial mineral being the raw material for silicon metal and silica glass and their broad applications, such as solar panel manufacturing for the production of renewable energy.
On June 7th-9th, 2020, you have the possibility to attend the QUARTZ2020 - International Symposium on Quartz in Tønsberg Norway.
The conference gathers petrologists, mineralogists, sedimentologists, economic geologists and mining and processing engineers.
There will be a post-conference field trip to the Kragerø and Tørdal areas in south Norway on June 10th-12th. There will be a separate registration for the excursion.
Abstracts for the conference will be accepted until March 31th, you can download the abstract template on the conference website: https://www.nhm.uio.no/english/research/events/conferences/quartz2020/abstract-submission/
