NGWM22 Reykjavík Iceland - 11.-13. mai 2022

Island har valgt å utsette NGWM22 til 11. - 13. mai 2022 grunnet pandemien og smittesituasjonen. Og siden konferansen blir på våren i stedet for på vinteren, bruker de det som en mulighet til å arrangere ekstra ekskursjoner. De kan ikke love vulkanutbrudd på direkten i mai, men det planlegges tur til Fagradalsfjall. 

Iceland has chosen to postpone NGWM22 until May 11th - 13th 2022 due to the pandemic. And since the conference is in the spring instead of in the winter, they use it as an opportunity to arrange extra excursions. They can not promise volcanic eruptions live in May, but a trip to Fagradalsfjall is planned.

Siden vintermøtet blir et vårmøte i mai, ønsker den Islandske geologiske foreningen og arrangere ekstra ekskursjoner. De kan ikke love et aktivt utbrudd i mai, men planlegger tur til Fagradalsfjall hvor det var utbrudd i 2021, den 10 mai. I tillegg planlegger de for to fekstra tre-dagers ekskursjoner etter vintermøtet fra 14. mai, en langs sør-kysten av Island, den andre til halvøyene Borgarfjörður og Snæfellsnes.

Den geologiske foreningen på Island ser frem til å møte alle personlig i Reykjavik i mai neste år.

 

As the meeting will take place in May, the sosiety in Icland would like to use the opportunity to add additional field excursions to the meeting. They cannot promise a live eruption in May, but will have a field excursion to the 2021 Fagradalsfjall eruption site on the Reykjanes Peninsula on Tuesday May 10th.
Two additional three-day field excursions are also planned after the conference on May 14th , one along the south coast of Iceland, and another one to the Borgarfjörður and Snæfellsnes peninsula. More detailed information will be provided in January.

Registration and abstract submission will open on January 15th 2022. Additional information about the meeting, the field excursion, and travel arrangements will be available on the homepage https://jfi.is/ngwm_2022/  on January 15th 2022.
